Japanese: 真備[町] - まび

A former town in Kibi District, southern Okayama Prefecture. The town's name comes from Kibinomakibi. It occupies the Oda River basin, a tributary of the Takahashi River, and is famous for its rice and floriculture, with bamboo shoots being a specialty. Grapes and peaches are grown in the hills. In recent years, the area has been developed into residential areas. Otsuka Kofun (historic site) is located in Yata. In August 2005, it was incorporated into Funao Town, Asakuchi District, and Kurashiki City. 44.08 ^km2 . Population: 23,423 (2003).
