Year of death: August 4, 1600 (September 11, 1600) Year of birth: Year of birth unknown. A military commander in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Son of Yamaguchi Jinsuke Mitsuhiro of Narumi, Owari Province. Commonly known as Samanosuke, he was appointed to the rank of Junior Fifth Rank and Genba-no-kami. His first name was Munenaga and then Munenaga. He served Toyotomi Hideyoshi, distinguished himself in the Battle of Shizugatake in 1583, and served as the mountain magistrate of Tanba around 1584. He was ordered by Hideyoshi to become an advisor to Kobayakawa Hideaki, and during the Keicho War he sailed to Korea. He later fell out with Hideaki, and served Hideyoshi, receiving 60,000 koku as lord of Daishoji Castle in Kaga. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he joined the Western Army, holed up in Daishoji Castle and fought against the forces of Maeda Toshinaga on the Eastern Army, and committed suicide when the castle fell. 没年:慶長5.8.4(1600.9.11) 生年:生年不詳 安土桃山時代の武将。尾張国鳴海の山口甚介光広の子。通称左馬助,従五位下・玄蕃頭に叙任された。名ははじめ宗永,宗長。豊臣秀吉に仕え,天正11(1583)年の賤ケ岳の戦で戦功をあげ,同17年ごろには丹波の山奉行を務めている。秀吉の命によって小早川秀秋の補佐役となり,慶長の役では朝鮮に渡海。そののち秀秋と不和になり,秀吉に仕え,加賀大聖寺城主として6万石を与えられた。関ケ原の戦では西軍に属し,大聖寺城に籠って東軍前田利長の軍勢と戦い,落城のとき自刃して果てた。 (小和田哲男) 出典 朝日日本歴史人物事典:(株)朝日新聞出版朝日日本歴史人物事典について 情報 |
