Matsukawa [town] - Matsukawa
A town in Shimoina District in southern Nagano Prefecture. The Ina Mountains are to the east and the Kiso Mountains to the west. The main settlement, Moto-Oshima, is located in the Ina Basin in the center, and the Iida Line and Chuo Expressway pass through the town. Fruit cultivation, including pears and apples, is thriving. There are also factories producing precision machinery and electronic parts. Area: 72.79 km2 . Population: 13,676 (2010).
