Wattled bird - Wattled bird

Wattled bird - Wattled bird
A general term for birds of the passerine order, family Collaeidae. Or it refers to one of them. This family is endemic to New Zealand and consists of three species, one of which is extinct. A common feature of the three species is a small, prominent wattle at the base of the beak. This is why they are named Collaeidae, but they are not particularly related to birds of the Sturnidae family. They live in forests, but their flying ability has deteriorated considerably. The long-billed Collaeas Callaeas cinerea (known as kokako by the Maori) is about 34 cm long.

Japanese:
ハシブトホオダレムクドリCallaeas cinerea(マオリ族の呼称はkokako)は全長約34cm。
