Tapuanu

...The exact same female figures are always found in the "spirit houses" of the Sepik River region of New Guinea, but the relationship between the two is unclear. Masks are not generally found in Micronesia, but an exception is the human face called "Tapuanu" on Mortlock Island in the Caroline Islands. Some decorate large pillars erected at the gables of meeting houses, and others are a pair of male and female figures used in fertility dances.
