The pendants of Henry VII's Chapel in Westminster Abbey in London are famous. The Gothic decorations under the pilasters of staircases in 17th-century English Jameson architecture are also called pendants. (2) A lighting fixture that is hung from the ceiling. (3) A medal or ornament that is hung around the neck on a chain or string (→ necklace).
