A US company and one of the world's leading soft drink and snack food manufacturers. In 1898, North Carolina pharmacist Caleb Bratham developed a unique cola drink, and in 1902, he founded the Pepsi Cola Company. In 1948, the company moved its headquarters to New York. In 1954, it established an overseas department and began expanding its business globally. In 1959, it signed a sales contract with the Soviet government. In 1965, the company changed its name to its current name. Its main brands include Pepsi Cola, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and Seven-Up. It also operates fast food restaurant chains such as Kentucky Fried Chicken, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. Its other subsidiaries include snack manufacturer Frito-Lay and sporting goods manufacturer Wilson & Co. In 1998, it acquired Tropicana, the largest orange juice manufacturer in the US, and made it a subsidiary of its group. Its headquarters are in New York.
