〘 noun 〙 A copper four-mon coin issued from 1863 ( Bunkyu 3 ) during the Edo period. It is slightly inferior in material to the Kan'ei Tsūhō four-mon coin that was in use at the time. In December 1871 ( Meiji 4 ), the currency was set at 'one rin five mo' per coin. Legally, it was suspended from use until December 1953 ( Showa 28 ). Bunkyu coin. Bunkyu. 〘名〙 江戸時代、文久三年(一八六三)から発行された銅の四文銭。当時通用されていた寛永通宝の四文銭より材質の上でやや劣る。明治四年(一八七一)一二月からは一枚「一厘五毛」の通用を規定された。法的には昭和二八年(一九五三)一二月限り通用を停止された。文久銭。文久。
