Buraida - Buraida (English spelling)

The capital of Qassim Province in the Nejd Region in central Saudi Arabia. Population 333,500 (2003 estimate). A fertile oasis city, it has flourished since ancient times as an important location on caravan and pilgrimage routes. It is the country's most important agricultural city, and is home to an agricultural training center that provides instruction in modern agricultural techniques. Large-scale livestock breeding is active at the experimental farm.

サウジアラビア中部、ネジド地方、カッシーム州の州都。人口33万3500（2003推計）。肥沃(ひよく)なオアシス都市で、古くから隊商、巡礼ルートの重要地として栄えた。同国のもっとも重要な農業都市で、農業訓練所があり、近代的な農業技術の指導を行っている。実験農場では大規模な家畜の飼育が盛んである。
