It flourished in China around the 10th century BC, between the Yin and Zhou cultures and the Han culture, and was distributed from the Liaodong Peninsula to the vicinity of Indochina. The carvings on the plate surface, which was hammered to harden the vessel wall, include mountain patterns, square patterns, and spiral patterns. 〘名〙 表面に幾何学的な文様をおした土器。紀元前一〇世紀頃、中国の殷(いん)、周文化と漢文化の間に栄え、遼東半島からインドシナ付近まで分布。器壁をたたいてかためた板面の彫刻によって、山形文、方格文、渦文などがある。
