Japanese: フォークロア - ふぉーくろあ（英語表記）folklore

Folklore means "folklore" and in fashion it refers to an ethnic style. It became a big trend in 2002. Representative items include tunics, embroidered shawls, tiered skirts, and macramé belts. Bohemian has a freer and more carefree image. Both styles are characterized by a romantic and dreamy atmosphere. In the wake of the terrorist attacks, this style was in keeping with the trend of avoiding aggressive designs, but since 2003 it has been replaced by the dreamy classic style.

フォークロアとは「民俗」の意味で、ファッションでは民族調のスタイルを指す。2002年に大きなトレンドになった。チュニックや刺しゅうを施したショール、ティアードスカート、マクラメのベルトなどが代表的アイテム。ボヘミアンには、より自由で気ままなイメージがある。いずれも、ロマンチックで夢のある雰囲気が特徴。同時多発テロなどの影響で、攻撃的なデザインを避ける風潮に適合したスタイルだったが、03年以降は夢のあるクラシックスタイルに取って代わられた。
