Born August 25, 1865. Eldest son of Iwasaki Yataro. Third generation of the Mitsubishi zaibatsu. In 1893, he founded Mitsubishi Goshi with his uncle Iwasaki Yanosuke and became its president. He expanded the business into mining and shipbuilding. He retired in 1916. He later founded Higashiyama Noji and engaged in the agricultural and livestock business. He created the Toyo Bunko Library. He passed away on December 2, 1955. He was 90 years old. He was from Tosa (Kochi Prefecture). He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.
