A city in the northwest of Aichi Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1971. Located on the Nobi Plain and close to Nagoya City, the city practices diversified agriculture, focusing on rice, vegetables, and eggs. The ceramic, chemical, and electrical industries are well developed, and carp streamers (koinobori) are a local specialty. It is served by the Meitetsu Inuyama Line, and large housing complexes have been developed, making it within the commuting area of Nagoya City. Area: 10.47 km2 . Population: 47,340 (2010). 愛知県北西部の市。1971年市制。濃尾平野にあり，名古屋市に近いため，米・野菜・鶏卵を中心とした複合的な農業が行われる。窯業，化学，電気工業が発展しており，鯉幟(こいのぼり)を特産。名鉄犬山線が通じ，大規模な住宅団地が造成され，名古屋市への通勤圏に属する。10.47km2。４万7340人（2010）。
