Vallejo

Japanese: バリェホ
Vallejo
Peruvian poet. A central figure in the Peruvian social poetry movement that advocated breaking away from modernism, his first collection of poems, The Black Messenger (1918), drew attention for its strong indigenous color while still being based on modernism. His representative works include the collection of poems, Turilce (1922), written in a unique style that makes extensive use of metaphors, and Spain, Take This Cup Away From Me (1938), which expresses sympathy for the Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War.
