Mount Hanamagari

This mountain is located on the border between Karuizawa Town, Nagano Prefecture, and Naganohara Town and Takasaki City, Agatsuma County, Gunma Prefecture. It is 1,655 meters above sea level. It forms the watershed between the two prefectures, and while the Gunma side has been eroded and has a steep slope, the Nagano side has a gentle slope. The mountain's name comes from the fact that its shape resembles a giant's nose when viewed from the east. There is a hiking trail from Kirizumi Onsen.

長野県軽井沢町と群馬県吾妻(あがつま)郡長野原町・高崎市の境にある山。標高1655メートル。両県の分水嶺(ぶんすいれい)をなし、群馬県側は侵食が進んで急斜面であるが、長野県側は緩斜面である。山名は、東方から見ると山容が巨人の鼻に似ているところからついたという。霧積(きりづみ)温泉からのハイキングコースがある。
