Japanese: 破提宇子 - はだいうす

It can also be read as "hadeusu" or "hazeusu." Teiusu is a kanji for Deus (God, Heavenly Master). Habian, who was famous as a Japanese Iruman (Iruman) during the rise of Christianity, wrote this book criticizing Christianity in January of the 20th year of the Genna era after he renounced his Christian faith in about 1607 (Keicho 12) or the year after that he wrote the missionary book "Myozen Mondo." The theory of criticism is the complete opposite of the logic of the claims in "Myozen Mondo," and there is no internal or ideological development between the two. However, it is the first anti-Christian book compiled in one volume, and since it was written by someone who was once inside the church, it is excellent in content. It gives us an idea of the level of understanding of Christianity among intellectuals at the time, and it has indispensable historical value in that it provided material and arguments for later anti-Christian books. 「はでうす」「はぜうす」とも読む。提宇子は Deus (神，天主) のあて字。キリシタン興隆期の日本人イルマン (伊留満)として名高いハビアンが，伝道書『妙貞問答』を著わしたのち翌年か翌々年の慶長 12 (1607) 年頃に棄教して，元和6 (20) 年正月に著わしたキリシタン批判の書。その批判の理論は『妙貞問答』の主張の論理のまったくの裏返しであり，その間に内面的，思想的発展はみられない。しかし一書にまとめられた反キリシタン書としては最初のものであり，かつて教会内部にあった者の著書であるため内容的にもすぐれており，当時の知識人のキリシタン理解の程度を知りうるとともに，のちの排耶書に素材と論点とを与えた点で，無視しえぬ史料的価値をもつ。 G.エリソンの英訳がある。
