Hasami [town] - scissors
A town in Higashisonogi County in central Nagasaki Prefecture. It occupies a small basin in the upper reaches of the Kawatana River, with cultivated land along the river. The Nishi-Kyushu Expressway passes through the town. It borders Arita Town in Saga Prefecture, and is a pottery town that developed under the protection of the Omura Domain, producing Hasami ware, mainly for household tableware. Area: 56.00 km2 . Population: 15,227 (2010).
