Yi script (Imoji)

Japanese: イ文字(彝文字) - イもじ

A script for writing the Yi language. In Chinese historical texts written in classical Chinese, it is called San script or Yi script, but more recently it has been called Yi script. It is generally known as Lolo script. The exact date of its creation is unknown. The shape and arrangement of the characters vary depending on the region, and it can be written vertically or horizontally. It is said to contain more than 8,000 characters, and a wealth of literature remains. Many of them date to the Ming Dynasty, including inscriptions such as the "Senjigai" (1533) and the "Sensaikuhiki" (1546), as well as the "Southwestern Yi Journal" (24 volumes) and numerous scriptures (literature).

イ語を表記する文字。中国で漢文の史書では爨（さん）文とか韙（い）書と呼ばれているが，最近ではイ(彝)文という。一般にはロロLolo文字の名で知られる。創作年代は正確にはわからない。地域によって字形と配列法が異なり，縦書きも横書きもある。字数は8000字以上もあるといわれ，文献も豊富に残っている。明代のものが多く，《鐫字崖（せんじがい）》(1533)，《千歳衢碑記（せんさいくひき）》(1546)などの碑文のほか，《西南彝志》(24巻)や多数の経典(文学)がある。
