〘 noun 〙① The act of visiting shrines and temples and offering a talisman (fuda) as a memento or prayer. Also, the talisman. → Senshafuda. ※Seiyo Dochu Hizakurige (1870-76)〈Kanagaki Robun〉10 "These days, people who visit a thousand shrines are not so much about faith, but are good and talented, but they make a name for themselves by offering talisman (nousatsu) ." ② At the end of the year, collecting all the talismans from shrines and temples that you have received that year and offering them to one shrine or temple. Sometimes this is done on the day of soot removal. ③ ⇒ Osamefuda (offering talisman)

〘名〙① 江戸幕府の金蔵や米蔵に金、米を納めた者に対して、金奉行や蔵奉行が発行した受領書。〔地方凡例録(1794)〕② 年末に、その年もらった御札をまとめて、一か所の社寺に納めること。《季・冬》③ 社寺に参詣し、記念のために納める木や紙の札。
