Japanese: 粘度降下剤 - ねんどこうかざい

An industrial auxiliary added to liquids and solutions to improve their fluidity and reduce their viscosity for suitability for coating, etc. In the case of solutions containing polymer solutes such as inks, paints, and adhesives, a small amount of solvent is generally added to the solute to adjust the molecular spread of the solute in the solution or to reduce its affinity with the solvent, thereby adjusting the viscosity as a mixed solvent system. On the other hand, when improving flow properties such as coatability, surfactants such as nonionic surfactants or silicone-based surface treatment agents are used to adjust the interfacial tension to achieve the purpose.

液体の流動性を改善し，また塗布等の適性を得るために，液体，溶液の粘度を降下させる目的で加える工業用助剤。インキ，塗料，接着剤などの高分子溶質を含む溶液の場合は，一般には溶質に対して，やや溶媒を加えることにより，溶質の溶液中での分子の広がりを調節したり，溶媒との親和性を減じることにより，混合溶媒系として粘度調節を行う。一方，塗工性など流動特性の改善を伴う場合には，非イオン界面活性剤などの界面活性剤やシリコーン系表面処理剤を用いて，界面張力を調節して目的を達する。
