The theory that the velocity distribution of stars near the Sun, excluding high-velocity stars, is divided into two spherical distributions around two velocity centers. It was proposed by J.C. Kaptein in 1904. It is named after the fact that the motion of the stars as seen from the Sun is distributed around two flowing velocity centers. → Related article Kaptein Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
