The Antarctic Circumpolar Current is a circumpolar current that flows from west to east around the Antarctic continent. Its center is between 50° and 60° south latitude, and its flow speed is slow, at less than 0.5 knots. However, because it is 3,000 meters thick, it is said to be a huge current with a flow rate of over 100 million tons per second.
