A town in Futaba County facing the Pacific Ocean in eastern Fukushima Prefecture. Its center is Muraide, a town on the Rikuzenhama Kaido Highway, and the Joban Line runs through it. In 1984, the Fukushima Daini Nuclear Power Plant was built here (currently out of power generation due to a radioactive material leak accident in March 2011). The Kidogawa Valley in the west is a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves. The town sustained damage during the Great East Japan Earthquake. 103.64 km2 . 7,700 people (2010).
