Born: March 3, 1700, Nimes [Died] August 29, 1777. Castel Gandolfo. French painter. Son of architect and sculptor F. Natoard. Studied under F. Lemoine in Paris. Received the Prix de Rome in 1721, and studied in Rome from 1723 to 1729. Member of the Royal Academy in 1734. Devoted himself to the formation of the French Rococo style. Excelled in religious, historical, landscape and decorative painting, he was a rival of F. Boucher at the time. President of the Academie de France in Rome from 1751 to 1774.
