The Calendar Play - Goryaku no sou
During the Middle Ages, this was a ceremony to present the Emperor with the calendar for the coming year, prepared by a calendar expert from the Bureau of Onmyo . On November 1st, officials from the Ministry of Central Affairs would present the Guju calendar in the Shishinden Hall, and on the New Year's Sechie (seasonal festival), they would present the Shichiyo calendar in the Horakuden Hall.
