Trichoderma - Captivating

A general term for molds belonging to the fungi imperfecti. They spread over the substrate surface like a blue-green powder, and look similar to blue mold. Many species of Trichoderma are parasitic on other fungi, and if the parasitic fungus is a harmful fungus such as a plant pathogen, it can be used as a natural enemy. For example, some fungi are used as natural enemies to control white mold disease in agricultural crops. However, on the other hand, there are also harmful fungi that attack useful fungi such as shiitake mushrooms, and in recent years, the name Trichoderma has become famous due to the great damage it has caused to shiitake mushroom cultivation. In addition, species of Trichoderma that produce cellulase, a powerful cellulose-degrading enzyme, have been discovered, and industrial use of microorganisms is being researched. Many Trichoderma species in the ascus-forming stage belong to the genus Hypocrea .

不完全菌類に属するカビの総称。青緑色の粉を吹いたように基物面に広がり、外観はアオカビに似る。トリコデルマ菌には他の菌に寄生する種が多く、寄生される菌が植物の病原菌のような害菌ならば、天敵菌として利用することができる。たとえば、ある菌は天敵微生物として農作物の白絹(しらきぬ)病の防除に使うこともある。しかし逆に、シイタケのような有用菌を攻撃する有害菌もあり、近年、トリコデルマの名が有名になったのはシイタケ栽培に大被害を与えたためである。またトリコデルマのなかには、強力なセルロース分解酵素のセルラーゼを生産する種が発見され、微生物の工業的利用が研究されている。トリコデルマの子嚢(しのう)形成時代は、ヒポクレア属Hypocreaに属するものが多い。
