Haiku poet. Born in Ehime Prefecture. Real name: Shozo. Studied at Waseda University School of Politics and Economics. He contributed to "Shibugaki", "Hototogisu", "Izumi" and other publications, but later joined Mizutani Saiko and "Aone", as well as Hino Sojo's "Flagship", turning to the new haiku movement and pursuing poetic possibilities while still following established forms. In 1937 (Showa 12), he was called up and fought in China and the northern Kuril Islands. After World War II, he helped found the "Taiyokei" and "Kazankei" publications and edited "Shikaden". In 1952, he was based in "Haiku Hyoron", but in his later years, he stopped composing haiku. His haiku collections include "Heaven's Wolf" (1941) and "Hebi no Fue" (1952).
