A family of German actors. Also called Devrient. Of Flemish descent. (1) Ludwig Devrient (1784-1822) Renowned as an outstanding character actor at the Berlin Court Theater. Often compared to the English actor Edmund Kean for his romantic originality and strong personality. (2) Eduard D.
