Reinforced concrete - Tekkin Concrete (English spelling)

Reinforced concrete - Tekkin Concrete (English spelling)
Concrete reinforced with steel bars. A structural material that utilizes the properties of both concrete, which is strong against compression, and steel, which is strong against tension, by embedding steel bars in concrete. The combination of steel bars in concrete is extremely rational, as concrete and steel bars have strong adhesion and similar thermal expansion coefficients, and is indispensable in civil engineering and construction as a fireproof, earthquake-resistant, and durable structural method. It is said to have been invented by French engineer J. Monnier (1823-1906), but the emergence of reinforced concrete at the end of the 19th century was linked to the New Architecture movement in Europe and America, and supported by industrial development, it opened up new fronts in architectural styles and structural technology, leading to the construction of large openings, large-span roofs and bridges, wide spaces without columns and beams, and high-rise buildings that were impossible with brick or stone construction. Reinforced concrete is widely used in foundation work, framework structures, and structural materials.
