The name of an official position in Ito Province, Kitakyushu, in the second half of the 3rd century. It appears in the Wajinden section of the Gishi. The title of the Idaisotsu official position appears in the Shinshu, which is comparable to the Chinese Shishi, but it is said that the Idaisotsu was stationed there to inspect the surrounding countries north of the Queen's Kingdom (Yamataikoku), and was respected by the other countries. It also examined envoys from the Queen to Kyoto (Wei), Taifang County, and the Korean countries, as well as envoys from Taifang County to Wakoku, and transmitted documents and gifts to the Queen without error. There are differing opinions as to whether the Idaisotsu was established by Wei or the Queen's Kingdom.
