Japanese: 追儺面 - ついなめん

It refers to a mask used in Oinashi rituals, but the mask of Hoso-shi, who appears in the Tai-na ritual held at the ancient imperial court and chases away evil demons, is said to have a golden four-eyed mask, and currently only one equivalent relic is known in Korea. Rather, the several types of demon masks used in the Oni-Hashiri and Oni-Oki-Oki ceremonies held at shrines and temples from the Heian period onwards are often called Oinashi masks. The demon masks thought to have been used in these ceremonies include a set of three types of father, mother and child, or a pair of parents, and the roles of Ryuten and Bishamon, who chase away demons, seem to have used masks with similar expressions to the Oni masks, and there is considerable variation depending on the region and lineage in which they are handed down.

追儺に用いられる仮面をいうが，古代の宮中で行われた大儺（たいな）に登場して疫鬼を追う方相氏の仮面は黄金四目といわれ，これに相当する遺品は現在のところ韓国に1面知られているだけである。むしろ平安時代以降，社寺で行われた修正会（しゆしようえ），修二会（しゆにえ）の結願日に行われた鬼走りとか鬼追いの行事に用いられた数種の鬼面が，追儺面と呼ばれていることが多い。この行事に用いられたと思われる鬼面には，父･母･子の3種一組や父母一対の場合があり，鬼を追う方の竜天，毘沙門という役も鬼面と似たような表現の仮面を用いたようで，伝承された地方，系統によってかなり変化がある。
