Order: Artiodactyla, family: Bovidae. Also known as the Tibetan antelope. Body length: 135cm, height: about 80cm. Males have long, slender, unbranched horns about 60cm long. Their entire bodies are covered in woolly hair and are light yellowish brown, with a lighter colored nose. They live in small groups in high mountain areas at altitudes of 3000-5000m. Tibetans used to regard this species as sacred. They are found in Tibet and Ladakh. They are said to be the model for the fictional animal unicorn.

偶蹄目ウシ科。別名チベットレイヨウ。体長 135cm，体高 80cm内外で，雄は長さ 60cmあまりの分岐しない細長い角をもつ。全身羊毛状の毛が生え，淡黄褐色であるが，鼻先は淡色。標高 3000～5000mの高山地帯に数頭の小群で生活している。チベット人はその昔，本種を神聖視していた。チベット，ラダックに分布する。架空の動物ユニコーンのモデルとされる。
