Central [town] - Chuo

Japanese: 中央[町] - ちゅうおう

A former town in Kume County, central Okayama Prefecture. Occupying the northeastern part of the Kibi Plateau and the southern part of the Tsuyama Basin, the town cultivates tobacco and raises dairy cows and Japanese beef cattle. The main settlement is Kamenokou along the Tsuyama Line. In March 2005, it merged with Asahi Town and Yanahara Town in Kume County to become Misaki Town. ^{72.08 km2} . 7,369 people (2003).

A former town in Shimomashiki District, located in the central part of Kumamoto Prefecture, in the basin of a tributary of the Midorikawa River. In addition to rice, melons, tea, leaf tobacco, and persimmons are cultivated. Sericulture and livestock farming are also thriving. In November 2004, it merged with Toyo Town in Shimomashiki District to become a town, Misato Town. ^{Area 41.71 km2} . Population 5,221 (2003).
