Joruri, domestic drama. Three acts. Written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. First performed at the Osaka Takemotoza around 1707. It tells the story of a tragedy surrounding Shigenoi, the wet nurse of Princess Tonohime of the Yurugi family of Tanba, and her ex-husband Yosaku, who gave birth to Miyoshi, and the love story between Yosaku and Seki no Koman. The act "Shigenoi and her son's farewell" in which Shigenoi knows that the steward Miyoshi is her own son, but parts ways with him without identifying him as father and son, fearing that people will find out that the princess and the steward are foster siblings, was also incorporated into the adaptation "Koi Nyobo Somewake Tezuna" and is well-known.
