Tamaoya no Mikoto

Japanese: 玉祖命 - たまおやのみこと

A god who appears in the Kojiki and Nihon shoki. When Amaterasu Omikami hid herself in a cave, she created the Yasakani no Magatama . She is one of the Five Companion Gods who accompanied the heavenly grandson when he descended to earth, along with Ame- no-koyane -no-mikoto , Futodama -no-mikoto , Ame-no-uzume -no-mikoto, and Ishikoridome-no-mikoto . She is the ancestor of the Tamazukuribe clan, which controls the Tamazukuribe. She is also known as Ama-no-akarutama-no-mikoto .

記紀に見える神。天照大神が岩戸にかくれた時に、八坂瓊曲玉(やさかにのまがたま)を作った。天孫降臨の時、天児屋命(あめのこやねのみこと)、布刀玉命(ふとだまのみこと)、天鈿女命(あまのうずめのみこと)、石凝姥命(いしこりどめのみこと)とともに天孫に従った五伴緒神(いつとものおのかみ)の一神。玉作部を統率する玉祖連(むらじ)の祖。天明玉命(あまのあかるたまのみこと)の別名がある。
