A town in Katori County, northeastern Chiba Prefecture. It is located on the Shimousa Plateau, and its central settlement is a small castle town from the Middle Ages. It is served by the Ryoso Irrigation Canal, and produces rice, sweet potatoes, and peanuts. There is an industrial complex.
