A village in Yama District, northwest of Fukushima Prefecture. Population 2,701 (1995). Located at the confluence of the Tadami River and the Aga River (Okawa River). Ogino developed as a settlement in front of Ogino Station on the Ban'etsu West Line in 1914, and is one of the central settlements. Ogino stone (green tuff), which is used for stone materials, is produced in the area. The prefectural Ogino Boating Center was opened in 1950, utilising the reservoir of the Shingo Power Station, which was built in 1939, and various tournaments are held there. 福島県北西部,耶麻郡の村。人口2701(1995)。只見川と阿賀川(大川)の合流点に位置する。1914年磐越西線荻野駅が設置されてから駅前集落として発達した荻野は中心集落の一つで,付近では石材に利用される荻野石(緑色凝灰岩)を産する。39年に建設された新郷発電所のダム湖を利用して,50年に県営荻野ボート場がつくられ,各種大会が開催されている。産業の中心は農業で,米を中心に野菜,大豆,ソバなどが栽培される。
