A brown alga in the family Stonecropaceae. It grows in large colonies on rocks in the middle intertidal zone on the Pacific coast south of Ibaraki Prefecture. It is also found in the central and southern coast of Honshu and in western and northern Kyushu. The alga is hard, thin, angular, rod-shaped, and branches many times, reaching a total length of 10 cm. 褐藻類ナガマツモ目イシゲ科の海藻。太平洋岸の茨城県以南で,潮間帯中部の岩石に著しい群落をつくる。本州の日本海岸中南部,九州西・北部にも分布する。藻体は硬く,細い角張った棒状で何回も分岐し,全長 10cmに及ぶ。
