Sone-so

Japanese:
Sone-so
This estate was established in Ichishi County, Ise Province as a manor owned by Daigoji Temple in Yamashiro Province. It occupies the southern part of Ichishi Plain, the lower reaches of the Miwatari River, and is considered to cover the area from the southern part of Mikumo Town, Mie Prefecture (present Matsusaka City) to Matsuzakiura Town, Matsusaka City. It was established before 896, and in 928 it was purchased by Suzakuin from the head of the estate, Councillor Fujiwara Genjo (Catalog of Daigoji Temple Documents), and donated to Daigoji Temple in 948. The amount of donated land was over 140 cho. In 951, the Daijokan document and other documents granted the exemption from importation and temporary miscellaneous duties, but since it was located on the route to Ise Shrine, it was frequently required to carry out miscellaneous duties such as escorting the Saio (Saigū) and this led to disputes with the Kokuga (provincial government office). In the late Heian period, the Ise Taira clan invaded, Taira Kanesue seized the manor, and Kanesue's grandson Taira Nobukane became its steward. After the fall of the Taira clan, Yamanouchi Sudou Tsunetoshi was appointed as land steward, and after the Jōkyū War, Homma Iemochi was appointed as land steward. From the Kenchō to Bun'ei eras (1249-1275), no general inspections were conducted, and the annual tax decreased year by year. In 1338, a local force from the neighborhood invaded the manor, seizing rice for the temple and other supplies, and is said to have destroyed the manor's ships at Matsuzakiura. In the 15th century, it was invaded by the Kitabatake clan, and became a designated estate of the clan. Later, it became the Kitabatake clan's territory, and the manor as a whole disappeared.
