Soda ash - Soda High

The industrial chemical name of anhydrous sodium carbonate, _Na2CO3 . Ordinary commercial products are over 98% _Na2CO3 . _They also contain small amounts _{of NaHCO3} , _NaCl , _Fe2O3 , _Na2SO4 , _etc. It is obtained by calcining crude sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) using the ammonia soda process. It is a grayish-white powder or lump that is soluble in water but poorly soluble in ethanol. The light dust-like material obtained directly is called light ash, while the heavy material in the form of _Na2CO3 · _H2O after hydration _is called heavy ash. The large particles obtained by sifting heavy ash are called granular ash. It is important as a raw material for glass, dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and industrial chemicals.

無水炭酸ナトリウムNa₂CO₃の工業薬品名．普通の市販品は，Na₂CO₃98％ 以上．NaHCO₃，NaCl，Fe₂O₃，Na₂SO₄などをわずかずつ含む．アンモニアソーダ法による粗炭酸水素ナトリウム(重曹)のか焼により得られる．灰白色の粉末または塊で，水に可溶，エタノールに難溶．直接得られる粉じん状軽質のものは軽灰，水加処理したNa₂CO₃･H₂Oの形の重質のものを重灰という．重灰をふるい分けすると得られる粒子の大きいものを粒状灰という．ガラス原料，染料，医薬品，農薬，工業薬品として重要である．
