A court official in the Asuka period. He was the grandson of Soga no Umako and the son of Kuramaro. He opposed Soga no Emishi and others, and made his daughter the wife of Prince Nakano Oe. He allied with the prince and planned and carried out the Taika Reforms. He then became the Minister of the Right, but in 649, due to slanderous accusations by his younger brother, he was attacked by Prince Nakano Oe's army as a traitor and committed suicide. → Related Articles Minister of the Right | Soga Clan Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
