He was a merchant in Hakata, Chikuzen (Fukuoka Prefecture), and in 1420, he served as a host for the Korean envoy Song Kikei, and in 1432, he was granted trade privileges with Korea and accepted trade from the shugo daimyo Otomo clan and others.
