〘noun〙① A stone monument. Something that is erected with a commemorative inscription carved into it. Ishibumi. ※Taiheiki (late 14th century) 6 "Everyone who saw the 31 characters that remained on the stone monument was moved to tears." [Book of the Later Han - Preface to the Biography of Confucian Scholars] ② A gravestone. A grave marker. A stone tower. ※Ukiyo-zoshi - Kindai Enkakusha (1686) 5 "Even his close relatives have not carried out the task of hanging themselves, so <omitted> they wished to erect a stone monument, even though they are already hungry."
