A Myoho scholar from the end of the Kamakura period to the beginning of the Northern and Southern Courts. Dates of birth and death unknown. His posthumous name was Nakahara Shoken. He was also known as Koreenbo Dosho. Son of Akitsugu. He first appeared as Uemon-no-jo in 1292 (Shoo 5), and became a monk before 1312 (Showa 1). He served as a Buddhist priest at the Office of Decision-Making for Miscellaneous Cases of the Kenmu Restoration Government, but after that collapsed he joined the Ashikaga clan, and in November 1336 (Engen 1 | Kenmu 3) in response to Takauji's inquiry, he submitted the Kenmu Code. Masae, who signed the book, was Koreen's younger brother and died in 1346 (Shohei 1 | Sadawa 2) at the age of 65, so Koreen's dates of birth and death can be roughly estimated.
