Aoyama Gakuin

Japanese: 青山学院 - あおやまがくいん

A private Christian school with its headquarters in Shibuya, Tokyo. It has a kindergarten, elementary, middle and high school, junior college, university and graduate school. It originated from three schools, including a Methodist girls' elementary school (1874) founded in the early Meiji period, and in 1927, Aoyama Gakuin and Aoyama Jogakuin merged to become Aoyama Gakuin, the direct predecessor of the current university and junior college. In 1949, the new Aoyama Gakuin University was established, and in 1951 it became a comprehensive university. The four-year university has faculties of literature, economics, management, law, science and engineering, international politics and economics, education and humanities, cultural policy, social information and global society coexistence (as of April 2015).

東京都渋谷区に本部をもつにあるキリスト教系の私立学園。幼稚園，初，中，高等部，短大，大学，大学院をもつ。明治初期に創立されたメソディスト派の女子小学校（1874年）など３校が源流で，1927年，青山学院および青山女学院が合同して，現在の大学，短大の直接の前身である青山学院となった。1949年新制の青山学院大学，1951年総合学園となる。４年制大学は文，経済，経営，法，理工，国際政治経済，教育人間科，総合文化政策，社会情報，地球社会共生の各学部（2015年４月現在）。
