Mizuho is an old town in Motosu County, in the southwest of Gifu Prefecture, bordering Ogaki City. It is a rural area in the Nobi Plain on the left bank of the Ibi River, producing rice, fruits such as fuyu persimmons, and flowers. Its center is Mieji, a former post town on the Nakasendo road, and it is served by the Tarumi Railway, with many commuters to Ogaki City. 岐阜県南西部,大垣市に接する本巣(もとす)郡の旧町。揖斐(いび)川左岸の濃尾平野にある農村地域で,米,富有柿を中心とした果樹,花卉(かき)を産する。中心は中山道の旧宿場町の美江寺(みえじ)で,樽見(たるみ)鉄道が通じ,大垣市への通勤者が多い。2003年5月,穂積町と合併して瑞穂市となる。11.77km2。1万1495人(2000)。
