A point on a sphere is used as a viewpoint, and a point on the sphere is projected onto a great circle surface perpendicular to the radius that passes through this point. However, the viewpoint is taken on the opposite side of the sphere from the point on the sphere to be projected onto the great circle surface. A circle on the sphere is projected as a circle, and the intersecting angle between two great circles on the sphere is projected to be the same size. It is often used in crystal projection.

球面上の１点を視点とし，この点を通る半径に垂直な大円面上に球面上の点を投影すること。ただし視点は大円面に対し投影すべき球面上の点とは反対側にとる。球面上の円は円として投影され，球面上の二つの大円の交角は同じ大きさで投影されるのが特徴。結晶投影法によく用いられる。
