Japanese: 末の契 - すえのちぎり

Title of a jiuta/koto song. Kyoto-style tegotomono. Composed by Matsuura Kengyo. The koto was performed by Urazaki Kengyo. One theory is that it was performed by Yaezaki Kengyo. Lyrics by Mitsui Jiroemon Takahide 5th (pen name Korakuen Shimaikyo). The song likens a sad love to a small boat drifting on a rough shore, and expresses a wish for a lasting bond. The structure is an opening song - tegoto (tsunagi, makura, tegoto, chirashi) - post-uta. The tegoto uses the three steps of the opening from the shamisen group song "Yurikan." The sangen is played in san-shitari, and the koto is played in tehira-chyo (in the Yamada school, it is played in Kumoi-chyo).

地歌・箏曲の曲名。京風手事物。松浦検校作曲。箏の手付は浦崎検校。一説に八重崎検校の手付ともいわれる。作詞5世三井次郎右衛門高英 (俳号は後楽園・四明居) 。荒磯に漂う蜑小舟 (あまおぶね) にせつない恋心をたとえ，末永い契りを願うという内容。構成は，前歌－手事 (ツナギ・マクラ・手事・チラシ) －後歌。手事には三味線組歌『揺上 (ゆりかん) 』の前弾き3段の手が用いられている。三弦は三下り，箏は低平調子 (山田流では雲井調子) 。
