Japanese: 推力 - すいりょく

Also known as thrust. The force that propels an object in the direction of travel, caused by the reaction of the ejection of combustion gases (rocket, jet engine) or the pushing of a fluid backward (propeller, screw). It is expressed in kilograms (kgf). The thrust generated by the rotation of a propeller or the like is expressed in horsepower (kW) and converted to thrust by T = 75ηp/V(/p). Here, T is thrust (kgf), η is propeller efficiency, p is horsepower, and V(/p) is speed (m/s).

スラストとも。燃焼ガスの噴出（ロケット，ジェットエンジン）や，流体を後方へ押しのける（プロペラ，スクリュー）反動で，物体を進行方向に推し進める力。重量キログラム（kgf）で表す。プロペラなどの回転による推力は馬力kWで表し，T＝75ηp/V(/p)で推力に換算される。ただしTは推力kgf，ηはプロペラ効率，pは馬力，V(/p)は速度m/s。
