Xin-dian Ruins

Japanese: 辛店遺跡 - しんてんいせき（英語表記）Xin-dian

The site is located in Xindian, Taosha County, Gansu Province, China. It is located in several places on a plateau on the east bank of the Tao River, about 600m north of Xindian Village. In 1924, Swedish archaeologist J. Andersson excavated tombs, dwelling sites, and other remains. Three different types of pottery of different styles have been excavated, of which painted pottery slightly different from the Yangshao style was excavated from the tomb at Xindian Site A, and is called Xindian style. This is recognized as newer pottery than the Yangshao style, with a coarse gray-brown texture, and many jars with handles on the shoulders and necks. Bronze vessels have also been excavated from these tombs, and it is thought to be a culture parallel to the Bronze Age of the Central Plains.

中国甘粛省洮沙県辛店にある遺跡。辛店村の北約 600mの洮河東岸の台地上に数ヵ所に分れて存在する。 1924年スウェーデンの考古学者 J.アンダーソンによって，墳墓，住居址などの発掘が行われた。様式の異なる3種類の土器が出土しているが，このうち辛店A地の墓からは仰韶式とはやや異なる彩陶が出土し，辛店式と呼ばれる。これは仰韶式より新しい土器として認識され，灰褐色粗質で，肩部および頸部に取手のつく壺が多い。また，これらの墓からは青銅器も出土し，中原の青銅器時代に並行する文化と考えられている。
